Scott has been in the music industry for over 20 years. He started playing bass in local Frederick bands at the age of 15. Scott co-founded his most successful band Shaft that procured an independent record deal and toured behind the release of their full-length album Quint. During these years Scott handled most of the bands business, which in turn readied him for his next move. Scott was offered a position of assistant manager for Uppercut Management based out of Philadelphia. Uppercut Management handled the careers of Kid Rock, Liquid Gang, Tidewater Grain and Stereomud. During this time Scott learned the ins and outs of the music industry. After two years in Philadelphia Scott decided to come back to Maryland and open his own artist management company Higher Ground Management. Through his connections Scott was offered a scouting position at Roadrunner Records in New York City. Scott was hired to bring new and undiscovered bands to the label. One of these bands was Sinch from Philadelphia. Sinch was the first signing to Scott’s management company and his first major label signing. Sinch released their first full length Roadrunner Records album in 2002. Scott helped procure national tours for Sinch with artists such as Chevelle, Seether and Stone Sour to name a few. Scott partnered with Larry Mazer of Entertainment Services (Kiss, Breaking Benjamin, Lamb of God,) for his next major label signing. Scott and Larry procured a major label deal for their first co-managed band Automatic Black with Arista Records in 2004.

Scott will bring his extensive knowledge and his relationships within the record
industry to Frederick Rock School for future guest speakers, clinics and to help
the students achieve their dreams of being performing musicians.
